    Option to Enable Large

    Hello,

With WW Pro, I was given the option to disable/enable large files, where people could or could not click to enlarge an image.

With the "Advance Edition" of Shozam I'm able to hide large file view, at least the word, one can still click an image for enlarging which make no sense to hide the word.

Of course I could resize all images, but that's way more time consuming,

I love the fact with Pro I could upload images and have a simple viewing page for clients within minutes, without them being able to enlarge the original file.

Is there a code that could be placed in the advance edition so I do not have to resize all my images?  This has nothing to do with images being protected, I just don't want clients seeing full scale images.

Looking forward to any solutions, thanks.

    CR,

Currently images generated by Shozam are at specific sizes. If the Large image is larger than you may want to show, you would need to batch scale them to a smaller size before importing into Shozam. Or you could watermark them if you want to protect them.

I understand that protection is not your main concern. I would appreciate you providing more details on the scenario you have. When we designed the features of Shozam we did not foresee users wanting to keep images small except to protect them (and watermarking does a great job at that). On the contrary, many Shozammers expressed a desire to have gallery pages and images be larger, given the faster Internet connection speeds available as well as larger, higher resolution screens. So we are considering providing features for increasing image sizes. It would be helpful to better understand scenarios where users may want to have smaller image sizes, if not for image protection.

    Your input would be appreciated.

    Re: Option to Enable Large

What I would like to see is when you uncheck the "large image" box it would disable being able to click on a small image and bringing up the larger image. I don't have a problem doing a batch resize, but not sure what size the small images are. But it brings up another question. If we batch process images smaller will they also appear smaller in a slideshow as well? I assume the slideshow would still show the same, guess I could test it and find out.

    Tom,

    Shozam generates 4 sizes:

    • Thumbnails (used in Gallery Intro, Index Page and QuickView Pages)
    • Small (used on Details and Info Pages)
    • Medium (used on the left side of QuickView Pages)
    • Large (used on Large Pages and Slideshow)

Making the Large images smaller would make them appear smaller in Slideshow as well.

You can do a test with a very skinny image and a very panoramic image in a sample gallery. Then you can measure the max W and H for each image type. Shozam makes them fit within a "max" imaginary box.

  • Small w=207px h=207px
  • Medium w=529px h=423px
  • Large w=753px h=565px

Thanks Razvan. Useful information, for me at least. I can use this to test a few ideas I have. Thanks for a great program

    Re: Option to Enable Large

That's a good way of dealing with it I'll just copy the files so they are the same for both in the gallery that need it.

I only need for 1 page so really it's dealt with now.

     Thanks for your help
