    My Ship Images

    Hello Everyone

I purchased Shozam several months ago and have been finding my way through the application ever since, helped enormously by the helpful advice offered within the Shozam forums to newcomers like myself. I have used FrontPage to customise my site and although pleased with the initial result, I freely admit that I have hardly scratched the surface when it comes to site design and layout. I still have to complete the Shozam album list and to fully populate existing albums but have tried to avoid extended upload times preferring to update the site in bite sized chunks. Any comments would be most welcome. I am aware of page differences in the way that the non-Shozam Banner headings appear but have not cracked that issue yet as the individual page HTML code appears identical. I can only view my site with Internet Explorer so comments from Firefox or Netscape users would be really helpful. My site can be found at www.myshipimages.com Regards

     Bartynor,

Welcome to Shozam and always nice to see a Frontpage user arrive to keep FP junkies like me comapny!

I took a look at your site and it really is concise and informative.

    Just some suggestions:

    1. You are using a 771 px banner at the top yet you are building the text wider.  Try condensing your page to fit at 771 like this:

    Ship Images

It is a 771 px wide table with rows and font set at Verdana 11 px.

    2. Your Slideshow is displaying small images because of Frontpage extensions screwing with it.  You need to do this:

    Frontpage Fix

    3. Unless there is some really pressing need to include the original photo, I would delete that option from the gallery.

    4. Get Firefox.  You really should have that installed on your computer to view your work.  Netscape is so close to Firefox, I wouldn't worry about it.  Also, consider installing Safari for Windows and Opera.

Finally, although I get seasick, I did enjoy sailing through your images. Nice. (Viewed fine with the FOX)

If it ain't broke... fix it until it is!

Many thanks for the rapid response and the very helpful suggestions. I particularly liked the revised text layout. Time and luck will see if I can carry out the other change you suggest to my FrontPage folders.

    Best regards

    Bartynor,

As a retired seafarer, I enjoyed looking at the photographs on your site. I was particulrly interested in the containerships, having driven amongst the largest types of these, on the round-the-world service. (Singapore to Singapore, via Panama and Suez in 62 days.) They are souless vesssels, but you make them look interesting.

Many thanks for your comments. Wow. Round the World in 62 day. My first trip was 9 months to Sri Lanka. Glad you liked the images.
