    Search feature

I would like to see a search feature added to Shozam. Possibly another place like where you put captions and long descriptions. But there you could put in keywords. Then maybe have the search function in the header or banner where the other commands are. When clicked have a small search window come up, enter keywords, click a search button, and have the window close then go to one of the photos in an album, or possibly open in a window with a list of thumbnails pertaining to the search keyword. Then be able to click on a thumbnail and have it open in the album.  I hope this makes sense. Any type of search would be helpful for someone selling photos I think, especially if they have a large gallery.

    Thanks,

     Chris,

If you want a search function now,  you could try:

    Google @ http://www.google.com/coop/cse/

You can see it here: Support Our Troops

Put "operation" into the Search Box.

You can customize it but I really didn't bother and just used Google's page.  A search function isn't that critical for my work.

    Also: http://www.freefind.com/ is another possibility.

Plus, you can find many CGI, PERL and PHP scripts if you Google "free site search scripts".

Regardless, you should use the Short Caption & Long Description fields at Step 2 (Text Tab) if you want to properly index your gallery. Plus, name your image with a relative term

    Welcome to the forum!

If it ain't broke... fix it until it is!

If you have never seen Our USMC Silent Drill Team, you need to watch it here in a one of my Shozam galleries: http://www.ohiowebs.net/gallery/USMC/

    Chris,

Also refer to the Resources section in the help pages for more info about including a Google custom search box on your gallery pages:

    Re: Search feature

Thanks for the info guys, and thanks for the welcome.

The Google custom search is an option, but the intermediate step of first seeing a Google webpage with results, may appear a bit "unprofessional".  I hope the developers of Shozam will look into incorporating a built-in search function.

    Regards

    Chris
