    new website

I recently posted a new website I designed for a local non-profit. www.brinkerhoffhome.org  If you open it in IE, it will have music. If you use Firefox or Safari, it will not. IE treats it as a background and it loads quickly but when I used another method to embed the music in the page, Firefox played it but the load was slowed considerably. I think that the folks who use firefox are less likely to appriciate the sound than those who use IE. What do you think.

You will see this site uses Shozam to provide the flash presentation but I used MS Expression web to add the additional coding. I have not decided how I want to do the tour. Any Ideas?

    Old Guy,

I get no sound in IE7, FF or SFW.  Plus, in SFW, your intro is dead - Kaput.

    Look at This

It uses a hidden Odeo player using a MP3 and will play across browsers. Look at This Post.

You may not be able to use it because you modify Shozam but you could probably slap it into your index.htm code prior to upload.

OK it must be time for me to go get my hearing aid. Didn't hear a thing but did like what I was looking at. Alright so who's the oldest in this group?....I think it's time for a group nap...LOL. DS the gallery looks really good to me. Oops it's almost 8pm....bed time. Have to get up at noon. You and Cowboy have a great weekend. Will look around the gallery you made later and give you a better critique.

    Re: new website

Tom, Perhaps you are not deaf; I might be hallucinating - probably too much sleep.  OK, sound runs fine on my IE7. It is a MIDI  file so perhaps you have that turned down on your mixer ????  I have no clue. I checked Safari and Tom is right, dead in the water. I know I checked the site in Safari before the sound so I wonder if the sound was just not fruity enough for the apple gang. Obviously, I need to work on it. Fortunately, this is charity work so I don't have to make any red faced apologies.

Interesting, I changed to Expression web from Front Page because it was supposed to play well with all the Internet kids. That was the primary goal. On their behalf, I will say the background music did come with the caveat that it would only work on IE. Looks like it is back to plan "B"

Avatar? Perhaps I could use my Wii player guy. He plays all my Wii tennis matches for me.

AS for age - they say you are only as old as you feel and some times after several hours in this chair, I try to get up and I feel 104! It is too early to go back to bed. I guess I should make some tea to stay awake. I'm looking at the chance of snow showers with falling temperatures. Cowboy, how about you? So much for Tom's offer for a good weekend. But Tom, I do appreciate the offer. Perhaps I can watch Illinois win again.

Older and wiser - half of that is questionable!

I think your midi may be playing because it is loaded on your computer and that is where IE is finding it.

The Gate's Gang stuff only plays well with Gate's Gang stuff.  Not all that sociable.

Still at FP 2003 and happy.

My wife has successfully landed in Antigua for a wedding and I am stuck here on the North Coast with Fog at 37 degrees.

Please don't discuss enjoying weekends any more.
