New album with 30 year old photographs

Seems like winter has been exceptionally long here in Alaska. As a result I've had plenty of time to begin archiving some of my photographs. The newest album that I've posted contains over 200 photos from a 4-H Fair in a small community that lies a few miles west of Yakima, Washington. I used nearly all of these photos in a weekly newspaper that I was publishing at the time and they all date from 1977 through 1983. They were taken using a manual focus Konica AutoReflexT and a medium format Mamiya Universal Press Camera, also manual focus. Color prints were processed commercially but all of the black and white negatives were developed and printed by myself. The scans of the negatives were made using an Epson 4870. I learned a lot about my scanner on this project and as a result, for the most part, the latter scans were somewhat better than the first ones.

Those were good times back then and I can see by reviewing this selection of pictures that I really enjoyed what I was doing, I just didn't realize it at the time.

Here is the link. Hope you enjoy this old time community event.

    Ron,

Were people happier in those not so distant but less complicated times?

Your photographs certainly make them seem so. A great small town feel.
